Working with management, AnCor Healthcare Consulting restructured employee responsibilities in the customer service and billing/collection departments, and trained staff in coverage criteria and documentation requirements. Protocols were developed and implemented to increase efficiency and provide for better controls. The MestaMed system control files were modified to produce CMNs and claims correctly, to increase reporting abilities and to manage inventory assets. These changes resulted in a substantial reduction of denials on current claims submitted, a 150% increase within three months in cash receipts on current billing, and a decrease in DSO by 90 days over a six-month period through increased cash collections. Once the improvements that AnCor Healthcare Consulting helped us to implement were completed, our HME/IV company's net profit contribution was greater than many of the larger profit centers of the hospital.
